Great Passion Play tickets offered to church groups
The Poteau Daily News is offering a great opportunity to area churches who want to sent their youth group to experience the Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Ark.PDN Circulation Director Melissa Adkins has announced that the PDN has acquired tickets to the Great Passion Play and will award them to an area youth group by way of a subscription selling contest. Participating youth groups will compete to sell the most PDN subscriptions and the youth group selling the most subscriptions will receive the tickets. As an added bonus, each participating youth group will also receive a portion of the proceeds from each subscription they sell which will help offset the travel expenses to and from the play. Youth groups wanting to participate will receive an information packet and subscriber information sheet. Information sheets will be turned in weekly to ensure prompt delivery of papers to subscribers. A running total of each groups progress will also be posted weekly so that the competing groups can see exactly where they stand in the contest. All subscriptions must be paid for at the time that a list is turned in. Both new and returning subscribers, who purchase year long and six month subscriptions will count toward the group's subscription total. Cash, credit card, and checks are all accepted.According to The Institute of Outdoor Drama, the Great Passion Play is America's most attended outdoor drama, having been experienced by more than seven million patrons from around the globe. The Great Passion Play has been showing for more than 40 years and features a cast of hundreds performing amid historically accurate stage settings. The Great Passion Play depicts the epic drama surround the thrilling events of the last days of Jesus Christ, his death, and resurrection.The Great Passion Play is staged in a 4,100 seat panoramic amphitheater and features state-of-the-art sound and lighting effects as well as original music. The dramatic two hour epic presentation treats viewers to the colorful spectacle of the marketplace, the pageantry of chariots and camel caravans, and the hustle and bustle of crowds going about their daily lives. From drawing well water to herding sheep through the streets of Jerusalem, the events of the last week of Christ's life on earth are spectacularly recreated.The Great Passion Play is not the only attraction, however, also at the site, guests can experience The Living Bible Tour, Top of the Mountain Dinner Theater, Sacred Art Center, Bible Museum, Christ of the Ozarks, and much more to make for a full day of Christian family fun.
