When fans watch Carl Albert State College Lady Viking sophomore basketball player Whitney Barnes, it helps to understand why she is one of the top scorers and 3-point shooters in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference, as well as the NJCAA.
Barnes, is a 5-3 shooting guard from Indianola.
"CASC is close to home, and I like the campus a lot,” Barnes said.
Having a year of experience in the OCAC has been huge for Barnes.
"Coming into this season, I knew what to expect, who the players were and what each team had,” she said.
“No question, anytime you have been through the conference once you have a good idea,” Carl Albert Women's Coach Jeff Tadtman said. “The freshmen can see her leadership, and take a cue and start feeding off of it.”
