The mother of several children who was sentenced to more than a decade in prison for child neglect and enabling child sexual abuse has been denied her request to withdraw her plea of guilty.
Lucinda Haskin entered a blind plea of guilt on Jan. 4 to nine counts of child neglect and three counts of enabling child sexual abuse.
On Feb. 22, Haskin appeared before District Judge Jon Sullivan to learn her fate. Haskin was sentenced to 165 years behind bars.
After her sentencing, Haskin asked that her plea be withdrawn on several grounds such as confusion and mental illness.
District Judge Jon Sullivan denied Haskin's motion to withdraw her plea.
On Tuesday, Haskin's attorney, Douglas Schmuck, of Poteau, filed an ammended notice of appeal including the court date of the denial. The appeal has been filed with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
A court date in Haskin's appeal has not been set by the O.C.A.
