Haskin's formally charged with twelve crimes against children

November 10, 2011

James and Lucinda Haskin of Monroe appeared in court Thursday afternoon to learn of the charges against them.

Formal charges were filed by the LeFlore County District Attorney's Office on Thursday against a Monroe couple accused of child neglect and sexual abuse.
James and Lucinda Haskin were arrested November 1 after their nine children were taken into protective custody.
According to the affidavit, the condition of the nine children was discovered after investigators discovered the Haskin family was associates of Marty Hester. Hester was arrested October 18, after allegations of sexual assault at his Poteau business and the uncovering of more than 2,400 images and 30 videos of child pornography.
James Haskin has been charged with nine counts of child neglect and three counts of child sexual abuse. Lucinda Haskin has been charged with nine counts of child neglect and three counts of enabling child sexual abuse.
The affidavit claims the couple willfully and maliciously neglected their children between the dates of December 2009 and October 20, 2011. It further states the Haskin couple withheld proper food, shelter, clothing, hygiene and education from the nine children who were under the age of 18 at the time.
The report shows that two of the children were sexually abused multiple times over the course of two years by James Haskin and that Lucinda Haskin continued to allow him access to the children after they had told her about his abuse more than ten times.
The couple is being held in the LeFlore County Detention Center on $275,000 bonds.

this couple lived across the road from us for several years in sequoyah county we made several attempts to turn them at dhs dept education deq with no success. we were told the children were not being cared for but were not being abused. it was so obvious that they were. once again goverment agencies are well paid but refuse to do their job these children could have been saved years of abuse and lives could have been saved if they would have looked into this case, the half has not been told what this couple has done and one more thing i never saw this man hold a job for one day so taxpayers we supported them to commit these crimes
