Heavener basketball teams split opening-round games at Bill Frye Invitational

MANSFIELD, Ark. — The Heavener High School basketball teams split their games on opening day of the Bill Frye Invitational.
The Wolves clawed Mulberry, Ark., 64-46 on Thursday afternoon to reach Friday afternoon's championship semifinal against the winner of Thursday's Paris-Hackett winner at 4 p.m. The winner will play for the championship at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, while the loser will play for third place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Lady Wolves lost their opening-round game 60-32 to Mulberry, Ark. on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Wolves will play in a consolation semifinal at 11:30 a.m. Friday against the loser of Thursday's Paris-Hackett game, with the victor playing for the consolation championship at 10 a.m. Saturday. Friday morning's loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
