Heavener begins District 2A-6 play with Hartshorne for Homecoming tonight

September 23, 2011

The Heavener Wolves are 1-2 after three games, losing their last game 50-0 last Friday night on the road against Paris, Ark.
“They were way too much for us,” Heavener Coach John Thompson said. “It was a non-district game. You want to win every game, but it's not something that counts (toward district standings). They were a very good ball club. They're ranked No. 1 in Class 3A in Arkansas. They were very good. Our kids knew that. The good thing was we came out of the game healthy.”
But now the real season, for all intents and purposes, will begin at 7:30 p.m. tonight when the Wolves welcome the Hartshorne Miners to Harvey Stadium for the District 2A-6 opener — and Homecoming.
