Heavener closes out season tonight with Senior Night game against Eufaula

November 8, 2013

The Heavener Wolves football team will try to end a four-game losing streak tonight as they will entertain the Eufaula Ironheads at 7:30 p.m. at Harvey Stadium for Senior Night.
The Wolves (2-6 overall, 1-5 in District 3A-8) have not won since their home opener Oct. 4 in a thrilling 20-14 overtime victory over the Roland Rangers. Since then, the Wolves have lost to Checotah (48-7), Spiro (35-7), Stigler (61-7) and Idabel (48-28) — and the Warriors were winless entering last week's game. The loss dashed any playoff hopes the Wolves had. Heavener needed to win last week and tonight against Eufaula to make the playoffs, since Spiro beat Roland last week. However, tonight will end up being the finale for 2013 for the Wolves.
The Ironheads are on a two-game losing streak, losing 30-22 in overtime to Roland two weeks ago and 34-13 to Checotah last week. Their last win was a 54-7 rout of Valliant.
