Heavener finally gets a home game, welcomes Roland to town

October 4, 2013

For the first time since the tailgate party that took place on the first day of football practice in August, the Heavener Wolves will finally get to play a game at Harvey Stadium, which they will do at 7:30 tonight in their District 3A-8 contest against the Roland Rangers.
The game was to have been their homecoming game, but it has been changed to Oct. 17 when the Wolves entertain the Spiro Bulldogs.
“It's good to be home for a week before getting back on the bus to Checotah [next week],” Heavener coach Carl Lee said. “They're excited about [being at home]. They're ready to stay off the bus. They've been focused all week, and have been working hard. You can tell that their glad they're going to be home. They're embracing it well.”
