Heavener girls beat Wyandotte to stave off playoff elimination

February 22, 2013

MUSKOGEE — The Heavener Lady Wolves did not let Thursday’s cancelation of the Class 3A Regional Tournament at the Muskogee Civic Center bother them when they finally got to resume postseason play Friday afternoon.
The Lady Wolves stayed alive in the playoffs with a 52-42 win over the Wyandotte Lady Bears to reach this afternoon’s consolation semifinals. Heavener will face the loser of Friday night’s Verdigris-Vian game at 1:30 this afternoon, with the winner playing for the consolation championship — and a trip to next week’s Class 3A Area Tournament at Fort Gibson — at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
