October 26, 2012

The Heavener Wolves football team is in the midst of a four-game losing streak since winning their District 3A-8 opener 47-17 over the Valliant Bulldogs on Sept. 21 at Harvey Stadium. Since then, the losing streak has seeemed to center around the oppposing teams making big plays against the Heavener defenesive unit.
With the Wolves (3-5 overall, 1-4 in district play) entertaining the Idabel Warriors (2-6, 1-4) at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Harvey Stadium for Senior Night, a win is just want the doctor ordered.
“That's an understatement,” said Carl Lee, Heavener's first-year coach, about needing a win tonight. “We just need to stop big plays. That's what has been killing us all year — big plays. That's something we're workikng hard to try to stop. The kids are still working hard and believing in themselves and the program. There's still a lot of positive things for us, and we're ready to go.”
