Heavener runner makes Top 10 at Henryetta Invitational; Wolves place seventh as a team

HENRYETTA — Heavener High School cross country runner Jose Farias placed in the Top 10 at Saturday's Henryetta Invitational. He was ninth in the boys' 5k race with a time of 18:58.
As a team, the Wolves were seventh with 211 points, finishing behind champion and meet host Henryetta (90 points), Keifer (97), Haworth (100), Quinton (130), Bristow (156) and Glenpool (191).
Besides Farias, Arturo Ortega was 28th (20:29), Cesar Gonzalez was 40th (21:50), Octavio Sanchez (22:37), James Cinocca was 56th (23:31) and Michael Bobo was 70th (25:45).
In the girls' two-mile run, the Lady Wolves had two representatives, Araceli Farias was 25th (14:49) and Gloriann Staines was 48th (16:31).
Teresa Duncan was 58th (8:42) in the junior high girls' mile run.
The Heavener cross country teams will return to action Thursday in the Collinsville Invitational.
