Heavener seeks second straight win, visits Paris, Ark., Friday night

September 14, 2011

The Heavener Wolves football team did not get its first win of the season until Week 8 last season.
This year, they got that first victory of the new campaign in their home opener this past Friday night with a 21-6 win over the Sallisaw-Central Tigers at Harvey Stadium.
Now, the Wolves (1-1) will seek their second straight win when they visit the Paris (Ark.) Eagles at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.
“That will be a plus for us,” Heavener Coach John Thompson said. “They're 2-0 and undefeated. They're a good football team. But if we go out and improve this week in our blocking and our tackling like we have been, then we have as good a shot as anybody at beating them.”
