Heavener soccer teams open district play victorious; Lady Wolves outlast Porter Consolidated, while Wolves claw Hugo Buffaloes

March 29, 2012

HEAVENER — It was a great start to the district season for the Heavener High School soccer teams Tuesday at Harvey Stadium.
The Lady Wolves had the more thrilling game of the doubleheader as they had to go into a shootout before getting past Porter Consolidated 3-2.
On the other hand, the Wolves were no match for the Hugo Buffaloes as they won handedly 6-1.
After the Heavener teams entertained Mena, Ark., Wednesday at Harvey Stadium, the Wolves will play in the Stilwell Tournament today and Friday. The Wolves will meet Wagoner at 2 p.m. this afternoon to begin the two-day event.
The Lady Wolves won't hit the field again until hitting the road against highly-ranked Fort Gibson at 5:30 p.m. April 6.
