Last weekend, Poteau's Briley Benson played in the Oklahoma Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches Association All-State Game at the University of Oklahoma Softball Complex. This weekend, another local softball player will be in an All-State Game.
Heavener's Logan Hinds will represent LeFlore County in the Oklahoma Slow-Pitch Coaches Association's Large School All-State Game at 3 p.m. this afternoon at the OU Softball Complex.
Hinds, who signed with Carl Albert State College earlier this year, will be on the Large East team. She had a .525 batting average with seven homers, eight doubles and a triple. She scored 42 runs, had 50 runs batted in and amassed 63 hits this past spring for the Lady Wolves, who went to last month's Class 5A State Tournament at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City — where they lost to Blanchard in the state quarterfinals.
There was supposed to be a second county player on Hinds' Large East team, Poteau's Natalee King, but will not be able to play.
