The Heavener High School basketball teams, along with the Leflore Savages and the Arkoma Lady Mustangs, were opening-round winners in Monday's games in the 82nd LeFlore County Tournament at Carl Albert State College's Mick Thompson Fieldhouse.
The Wolves handled the Cameron Yellowjackets 55-23, while the Lady Wolves got past the Leflore Lady Savages 59-51.
The Savages edged the Arkoma Mustangs 49-47 in one of the best games at any of the sites on Monday, while the Lady Mustangs beat the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets 54-33.
There were only two games on Tuesday night at CASC, as it was a Howe-Heavener match-up in both the girls and boys championship quarterfinals.
Today will be three consolation semifinals and one fifth-place semifinal contest at this site. In the girls consolation semifinals, Leflore will meet Pocola at 4:40 p.m. with the winner playing for the consolation championship at 4:40 p.m. Thursdsay in Talihina.
On the boys' side, Panama will meet Cameron at 6 tonight, while Arkoma will meet the winner of Tuesday night's Wister-Bokoshe game at 8:40 p.m. Those two winners will play for the consolation title at 6 p.m. Thursday in Talihina.
The Heavener-Howe girls loser will play the Spiro-Bokoshe girls loser at 7:20 tonight at CASC in a fifth-place semifinal contest. The winner will play for fifth place at 4:40 p.m. Friday in Talihina.
