HEAVENER — It seems appropriate that with all the rain showers LeFlore County experienced this past weekend that a team called the Thunder enjoyed a banner run at the 2012 OK Kids Coach-Pitch Regional Tournament at Blues Park.
The Heavener Thunder went through undefeated to win the regional tournament as they routed the Stilwell Warriors 17-4 in four innings in Sunday afternoon's title game. The game was to have been played on Saturday, but the game was rained out and rescheduled for Sunday afternoon.
The Thunder will meet the Sallisaw Titans at 4:15 p.m. this afternoon at the 2012 OK Kids Coach-Pitch State Tournament at Weatherford.
