Heavener Wolves hang tough, but lose to Wilburton

October 9, 2011

HEAVENER — The Heavener Wolves hung tough, but they suffered a 20-7 loss to the Wilburton Diggers in District 2A-6 action Friday night at Harvey Stadium.
The Diggers (4-2 overall, 3-0 in district play), winners of four straight, scored 14 points in the opening period, but the Heavener defense held strong the rest of the first half.
The lone score for the Wolves (1-5, 0-3), losers of four straight, was a 57-yard touchdown pass reception by Shaun Bradley to cut the deficit to 13-7, but that was as close as the Wolves got.
