Heavener Wolves look to rebound against Gore Pirates tonight

September 20, 2013

After a rough start to the 2013 season last week in a 42-6 loss to the Hartshorne Miners, the Heavener Wolves will look to rebound tonight against the Gore Pirates. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Gore.
While the first half of last week's opener was a tough one for the Wolves (0-1), the second half was a lot better — and a nice building block to use for tonight's game at Gore.
“Really, the first half was an adjustment period,” Heavener coach Carl Lee said. “The kids went out and played hard. We had a bunch of guys who hadn't played a lot on Friday night before. The first half was did a lot of adjustments. The second half was a competitve game. It was 12-6. The first half, we just got off to a bad start. It was just the fact that it was their first game, and that they don't quite have the experience. That's sometimes a bad combination. The fact that Hartshorne is a good team didn't help matters. If we play like we did in the second half, we'll have a good shot.”
