PANAMA — The Henryetta Lady Knights softball team made the 90-minute drive to LeFlore County Tuesday afternoon, and ended up having a good return trip home that night.
The Lady Knights, ranked second in the Class 3A Poll, took two wins from LeFlore County teams, beating Poteau 6-1 and host Panama 3-2.
The Lady Pirates and Lady Razorbacks will be in weekend tournaments. Poteau will be in the University of Oklahoma Invitational in Norman — where the Lady Pirates will play Hilldale at 5:30 p.m. today, followed by a 7:15 p.m. contest against Lawton MacArthur. On Friday, the Lady Pirates will play Edmond Santa Fe at 1:30 p.m., then a 3:15 p.m. contest against Purcell. Poteau will then play Jenks at 9 a.m. Saturday, then they will have a game either at 12:30 p.m. or 2:15 p.m. depending on their pool-play record.
The Lady ’Backs will be the Coweta-Claremore Invitational, playing three games today in Claremore — facing Tulsa Washington at 11:30 a.m., Tahlequah at 1 p.m. and Vinita at 4 p.m. Depending on how they do in their pool will determine if they will play a game on Saturday as the four different pool champions will battle in two title games at 3:30 p.m.
