Here comes Dr. Adams to the rescue

September 13, 2013

On Sept. 5, I went to Dr. Scott Clark's office to get some lab work done to make sure I'm in peak condition.
I was out in the parking lot, and I was looking at this nice ol' 1983 Kingfisher bass boat that was parked in the lot. It looked brand spanking new. I couldn't believe how new it looked. I was rubbing my hand across the carpet in a daze when I walked into Mike Sullivan, who said, “Isn't that a nice one? I used to have one just like her!”
I go inside for my lab work. They draw blood, and I take off down the hall. When I go around the corner, there's J.C. Midgley, with his wife, Glenda, sitting in a room. J.C. had a big catfish hook in his hand from a jugline they were running out at Wister Lake.
Dr. Clark is looking for a big set of pliers to cut it out. Now, this is my time to shine. I take hooks out of my hand all the time at the lake — heck, I'm practically a doctor on the water.
I go to get pliers out of my truck, but I just took them all out and put in my boat so I can do surgery at the lake the next time I'm there.
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and veterans.
Have a great weekend.
