High anticipation for local teams present as practice gets ready to begin Tuesday

August 6, 2011

If you're a high school football player or coach, Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 has been circled on the calendar for quite some time. That is the day which high school football teams can begin practicing for their 2011 seasons, which officially begin in September.
“We've definitely been looking forward to it,” said Poteau Coach Jeff Broyles, whose Pirates will begin practice at 6 p.m. Tuesday. “We had a great spring and summer time with the kids in our camps and passing leagues. We're really excited going into the season this year. I think we have a chance to do some things. The next step is to get started. That's what we're excited about.”
