High School Baseball Roundup

April 22, 2014

ARKOMA — A pair of two-run innings for the Kinta Eagles proved to be too much for the Arkoma Mustangs baseball team to overcome in a 6-4 loss at home on Monday afternoon.
Trailing 4-2 after two innings, the Eagles tied the game at 4 in the third inning, then took the lead with a two-run fourth inning for a 6-4 lead after four innings.
Down 2-0 after the top of the first inning, the Mustangs, who won their first game of the season Friday afternoon at Bokoshe, took the lead with a single run in the first inning and three runs in the second for a 4-2 lead.
Leflore 8, Webbers Falls 3: Friday in Webbers Falls, the Savages broke a 3-all tie after an inning with single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings, then put an exclamation point on the win with a two-run seventh inning.
Editor's note: Nothing was reported on Panama's softball game at Gore by press time. Also, Poteau's home doubleheader against Tahlequah was canceled and rescheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, but Poteau's Thursday home game against Broken Bow has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
