It wasn't easy, but the Poteau Pirates were able to make Senior Night a winning one as they held off the Sallisaw Central Tigers 10-7 Tuesday at Town Creek Park.
With the game tied at 6 after the Tigers scored six in the fourth inning, the Pirates took the lead back for good in their half of the inning on an RBI single by Michael Didway and an RBI groundout by Davey Bullard to give Poteau an 8-6 lead.
Poteau got a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning on a two-run double by Bullard.
Pocola 7, Panama 3: Tuesday afternoon in Pocola, the Indians jumped out early on the archrival Razorbacks.
Pocola scored twice in the first inning and three runs in the second to take a 5-0 lead.
Heavener 15, Wilburton 1: Tuesday afternoon in Heavener, the Wolves put the game away early, scoring 10 runs in the opening inning.
Talihina 7, Wilburton 4; Warner 4, Talihina 2: Monday in Wilburton, the Golden Tigers split their two games in the three-game festival.
In the win over the host Diggers, the Golden Tigers, who led 3-2 after three innings, scored three runs in the sixth inning and a run in the seventh inning for a 7-2 lead.
In the loss to the Eagles, Warner broke a 1-all tie with a three-run seventh inning.
