TALIHINA — The Talihina Golden Tigers would appear to be hitting their stride as the 82nd LeFlore County Tournament begins Monday.
The Golden Tigers won their fourth straight game as they posted a 56-41 victory over the Heavener Wolves on Thursday night on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium.
Talihina jumped out to a 17-11 lead after a period and slowly increased their advantage throughout the game.
Panama 54, Bokoshe 50: Thursday in Panama, the Razorbacks led virtually throughout, but never by more than 10 points, which was at 30-20 at halftime.
The Tigers, who were trying to get their first win of the season for new coach Jeff Williamson, cut the deficit to 38-35 after three periods, but got no closer.
Leflore 71, Panola 33: Thursday in Leflore, the Savages jumped out to a 19-0 lead after a period and rolled on to the big home win.
Whitesboro 60, Buffalo Valley 36: Thursday in Buffalo Valley, the Bulldogs had a 12-7 lead after a period, a 31-18 halftime advantage and a 48-26 lead going into the final period.
Whitesboro 75, Kinta 30: Tuesday in Kinta, the Bulldogs clawed their way to a 23-4 lead after a period and never looked back.
