WISTER — The Wister Wildcats got things going in the right direction to get the 2012-13 season going as they defeated the Leflore Savages 59-48 Friday night at the Wister Gym.
Howe 64, Smithville 49: Friday night in Howe, the Lions, who lead 19-13 after a period, outscored the Braves 14-6 in the second quarter to take a 33-19 lead at halftime.
Whitesboro 51, Battiest 39: Thursday night in Battiest, the Bulldogs made the coaching debut of ner Whitesboro coach Billy Karr a successful one. The ’Dogs, who had a halftime lead of 20-18, outscored the Panthers 15-11 in the third quarter and 16-10 in the final period to pull away for the win.
Red Oak 70, Leflore 38: Thursday night at Red Oak's C.C. Gillespie Fieldhouse, the Eagles jumped out to a 12-5 lead en route to a 30-18 halftime advantage. Red Oak then doubled up Leflore 40-20 in the second half.
