FORT SMITH, Ark. â€” The Poteau Pirates golf team came in second at the Roland Invitational at Ben Geren Golf Course Thursday afternoon.
The Pirates shot a 320, finishing one team stroke behind champion Fort Gibson (319).
The Pirates had three medalists on the day. Cody Shore was fourth-place medalist (77), Connor Wheat was fifth-place medalist (a career-best 78) and Jarrett Lowrimore tied for ninth-place medalist (career-best 80).
Trey Wells and John Scott Sanders each carded 85s.
The Heavener Wolves also participated in the tournament and had a team score of 424.
The Wolves were led by Colt Dunigan, who shot a 98.
Jackson Long had a 107, with Corby Kirkland a shot behind at 108. Zack Leroux had a 111, while Austin Davis had a 115.
Wolves sixth at Broken Bow
BROKEN BOW â€” The Heavener Wolves golf team was sixth at Tuesday's Broken Bow Invitational with a 399.
Colt Dunigan led Heavener with an 85. Stormy Winters had a 102, followed by Jackson Long with a 105, Corby Kirkland with a 107 and Austin Davis with a 108. Individually, Zack Leroux had a 123.
Pirates finish third at Seminole;
golfer ties for runner-up medalist
SEMINOLE â€” The Poteau Pirates golf team finished third at Monday's Seminole Invitational at Jimmie Austin Golf Course.
The Pirates had a team score of 322, finishing behind team champion, and Class 5A squad, Shawnee (312) and Class 4A Cushing (321).
The good news of the day was that Cody Shore tied for second-place medalist with a 74.
Trey Wells shot a 79, followed by Connor Wheat at 82, John Scott Sanders at 87 and Jarrett Lowrimore at 88.
