LeFlore County has its first basketball team to make state. The Hodgen Lady Bulldogs defeated Moffett 49-11 Thursday night at Liberty School to win the Organization of Rural Elementary Schools [ORES] Division II Regional Tournament title and make the state tournament, which will be next weekend in Shawnee.
The Bulldogs stayed alive with a 38-27 win over Krebs to make Saturday afternoon's 2 p.m. regional consolation title game against host Liberty. Saturday's winner also will make state.
However, lady luck ran out on the Fanshawe Lady Grizzlies as they lost 43-30 to Bearden on Thursday night in the Division IV Regional Tournament at McAlester's Frink-Chambers Middle School to see their season end.
