Hogs end play at Razorback Stadium in fine fashion with rout of Volunteers

November 15, 2011

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Razorbacks finished their regular season Saturday night at Razorback Stadium easily walloping the Tennessee Volunteers 49-7. With the win, the Hogs rose to No. 6 in the latest Bowl Championship Series poll after Oregon took care of Stanford and TCU shocked Boise State. With Mississippi State and No. 1 LSU left on the slate, the Razorbacks need to just take care of their own business, and let the chips fall where they may for the last two games.
It's easy to fall in love with a team that started off as the preseason No. 1, but as Alabama learned last year, one slip up can cost you a title shot. The Crimson Tide was 5-0 heading into the South Carolina game, and got beat by two touchdowns. That loss led to two more for the year, to LSU and eventual national champion Auburn.
