FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Razorbacks finally came through with a win as they celebrated homecoming with a 19-15 victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday at Frank Broyles Field at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The Razorbacks (4-5) were challenged all day by a good Golden Hurricane team (7-2), which saw its seven-game winning streak snapped but is undefeated in Conference USA.
It has been a theme this season for the Hogs, getting down late and needing a defensive stop or offensive points to win the game. John L. Smith, Arkansas coach, talked about the defense after the game.
"We're not bad when we get aligned where we're supposed to, and cover the guys we're supposed to,” he said. “I got to pat those guys on the back. They accepted a challenge in that second half. They just kept coming back and responded to the challenge."
