Hoops have arrived in LeFlore County

November 1, 2012

Say hi to November, folks. For sports fans, that can mean only one thing — the start of basketball.
Hoops in LeFlore County will begin tonight as the Leflore High School, Whitesboro High School and Carl Albert State College teams will begin their seasons, then Howe and Wister teams will open their 2012-13 season Friday night. Cameron's season will begin Tuesday night.
The football schools will start their seasons later this month or early December.
Since there isn't a special section previewing the high school basketball teams like there is for fall softball/baseball and football, the season preview stories on the squads appear as regular stories in the sports section. For coaches who haven't returned the preseason questionnaire I mailed out the second week of October, please do so. The information for the teams' season previews are obtained from the questionnaires. If coaches need me to re-send one out to you, just call me at (918) 647-3188 or e-mail me at sports@poteaudailynews.com.
