POCOLA — There will be at least one LeFlore County softball team playing for the title of the inaugural Pocola Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The host Pocola Lady Indians and the Wister Lady Widcats reached Saturday afternoon's winner's-bracket finals at 12:30 p.m. for the right to reach Saturday afternoon's 3:30 p.m. championship game.
The Lady Indians blanked the McCurtain Lady Bulldogs 10-0 Thursday night right before the Lady ’Cats edged the Stigler Lady Panthers 2-1.
On the loser's-bracket side, Talihina dropped out, but two other LeFlore County teams — the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets and the Spiro Lady Bulldogs — were still in the consolation side going into Friday afternoon's games.
Spiro doubled up Cameron 4-2, and the Lady Bulldogs advanced to Friday night's loser's-bracket quarterfinals against Stigler, with that winner needing to win four times Saturday to win the tournament.
The Lady ’Jackets faced the Keota Lady Lions Friday afternoon with the winner meeting McCurtain in the other loser's-bracket quarterfinal.
Pocola played an exhibition game against Keota, which got a forfeited win over Talihina, and posted a 10-3 win.
