Host Wister, Panama, Leflore, Red Oak reach championship semifinals of Wister Tournament; Championship game slated for Saturday afternoon, but game times moved up an hour

WISTER — Friday's championship semifinals of the Wister Tournament had an all-area flavor to them.
The host Wildcats along with the Panama Razorbacks, the Leflore Savages and the Red Oak Eagles all made the championship semifinals with Thursday victories.
The host ’Cats handled the Whitesboro Bulldogs 13-3, while the Hogs did likewise against the Howe Lions by a score of 12-2 on one side of the bracket.
On the top side, the Savages, who outlasted the Talihina Golden Tigers 12-11 last week in the LeFlore County Tournament, handled the Tigers with ease, winning 13-1. The Eagles beat the Wister junior varsity 12-1.
The Wildcats and the Razorbacks faced each other in one championship semifinal Friday night, following the semifinal contest between the Savages and the Eagles. The winners will play for the title at 3 p.m. Saturday, while the losers will meet for third place at 1 p.m.
Friday's consolation semifinals had Howe meeting Whitesboro and Talihina facing the Wister JV. The winner will play for the consolation title at 11 a.m. Saturday.
