Howe boys, Panama girls win inaugural GVC Tournament titles; Wister boys, Arkoma girls third; Arkoma boys, Wister girls consolation champs

ARKOMA — The first-ever Green Valley Conference Tournament crowned its champions Saturday night at the Arkoma High School Gym.
The Howe Lions avenged one of their losses as they defeated the McCurtain Bulldogs 58-49 to win the boys championship, while the Panama Lady Razorbacks claimed the girls title with a 50-43 victory over the Keota Lady Lions.
Both the Lions and Bulldogs won their semifinals on Friday night, with Howe beating Wister 64-36, while McCurtain beat Cameron 47-34.
The Wister Wildcats won the third-place game Saturday afternoon with a 53-43 win over Cameron, while the Arkoma Lady Mustangs beat the Howe Lady Lions 62-46 to win the girls third-place contest.
The Arkoma Mustangs won the consolation championship with a 63-58 overtime win over the Panama Razorbacks, who beat the Keota Lions 56-44 in Friday's consolation semifinal.
The Wister Lady Wildcats posted a 45-32 win over the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets to claim the girls consolation championship.
