Howe, Keota to square off in Lions lair for GVC title; trophy games set for today, tonight in Panama

BOKOSHE — There willl be some Lions to win the 2013 Green Valley Conference Tournament tonight at the Panama High School Gym. The only question will be the champions hail from Howe or Keota.
Both Lions teams won their championship semifinals Thursday night at Bokoshe Tigers Fieldhouse. Howe beat Arkoma 71-48, while Keota defeated Cameron 71-56.
Howe (8-0) and Keota will meet at 8:30 tonight at Panama for the championship, while the Mustangs (3-1) and the Yellowjackets (5-2) will play for third place at 3:30 this afternoon in Panama.
In this afternoon's boys consolation finals, it will be an all-LeFlore County match-up as Wister will play Panama at 12:30 p.m. The Wildcats (2-7) won for the second time this season, beating host Bokoshe 68-39, while the Razorbacks (1-3) got their first victory with a 69-58 win over McCurtain.
The girls championship semifinals took place Friday night at Bokoshe Tigers Fieldhouse, with Arkoma meeting Bokoshe and Howe facing Panama. The winners will meet for the conference tournament title at 7 tonight in Panama, while the losers will play for third place at 2 this afternoon.
Friday's consolation semifinals had Wister meeting McCurtain and Cameron facing Keota. The winners will meet for the consolation championship at 11 this morning in Panama.
