HOWE â€” The run in the Howe Wood Bat Tournament came to an end for the host Lions and the Leflore Savages Friday at Lions Field.
The Lions were run ruled 10-0 by the Smithville Braves, then the Savages suffered an 11-5 loss to the McCurtain Bulldogs.
Smithville and McCurtain played in the consolation championship Friday night.
In Thursday night's opening-round games, the Wister Wildcats blanked the Savages 5-0, while the Cameron Yellowjackets defeated the Braves 9-2.
Today's game times have change to accommodate this morning's ACT testing. Clayton (13-7), which defeated host Howe 10-4 on Thursday afternoon, will place Cameron (12-5) at 1:30 p.m. in one championship semifinal, followed by Whitesboro (8-8) â€” which defeated McCurtain 7-1 on Thursday â€” meeting Wister (10-2) at 3:15 p.m. in the other winner's-bracket semifinal.
The losers will play for third place at 5 p.m., while the winners will battle for the championship at 7 p.m.
