Howe teams sweep Heavener in LCT championship quarterfinals

The Howe High School basketball teams punched their tickets to the 82nd LeFlore County Tournament's championship semifinals Tuesday night at Carl Albert State College's Mick Thompson Fieldhouse with wins over Heavener.
The Lady Lions opened Tuesday night's doubleheader with a 53-45 win over the Lady Wolves, then the Lions kept their unbeaten record intact with a 64-52 victory over the Wolves.
The Lady Lions will meet Spiro at 7:20 tonight on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium in Talihina in one championship semifinal, with the winner playing for the championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Talihina. The loser will play for third place at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Lions will play Poteau at 8:40 p.m. Friday in Talihina, with the victor playing for the title at 8 p.m. Saturday in Talihina. The loser will be in the third-place game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Talihina.
The Lady Wolves and Wolves were in fifth-place semifinal games Wednesday night. The Lady Wolves played Bokoshe with the winner playing the Talihina-Arkoma winner for fifth place at 4:40 p.m. Friday in Talihina.
The Wolves met Whitesboro on Wednesday night, with the winner meeting the Leflore-Pocola winner at 6 p.m. Friday in Talihina for fifth place.
