This world lost one of the most inspiring people that has ever walked on the face of the earth this week. My sister, Janice Couch, passed away Sunday after a two-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
The day that the doctor performed the first surgery on her (Labor Day Weekend of 2009), I really believed that she would not be around to see Christmas. But not only did she get to be a part of that Christmas, but she blessed all of us with much longer displaying her faith and determination. During this time, she able to be a huge part of her two grandchildren’s (Aiyden and Abby Jo Horn) lives.
I have been around this world for more than 43 years, and I have never met anyone who was more positive and determined in a life-threatening situation than Janice was. She was always positive, and, even though she was hurting, she made it a point to go to as many of the ball games and beauty pageants that her nieces. nephews and grandchildren were involved in.
Janice has touched so many lives that I can’t even begin to give credit to her for all that she has done during her time on this earth. Through it all, she never complained about (and barely even mentioned) the needles, treatments, sickness or anything else that she was going through. All she was worried about was how everyone else around her was doing.
I would like to thank everyone for all of the support, cards, prayers and food that have been bestowed upon my parents, Cliff and Elaine Midgley, my nieces, Sherauna Burleson and Tiffanee Horn and her family, my sister, Sherry Wemmerus, and her family, my brother, Lance Midgley, and his family and to my wife, Paula, and I, and our family during our time of need. It has been greatly appreciated.
There have been so many people who have reached out to our whole family in this time of need. I know it is a direct reflection of what Janice was all about, and how she lived her life. I will never forget the kind words and actions of these people during this tough and trying time in our lives.
I know that we lost a great person, but the good Lord has gained an angel that will light up the heavens above for the rest of eternity.
Have a great week!
