Irene Hodges, 77, of Lenexa, Kan., died peacefully Feb. 26, 2012.
Irene was born Nov. 27, 1934 in Williams to Arthur and Muriel (Floyd) Hanna.Â She graduated from Cameron High School. She received her masterâ€™s degree in education and taught for over 40 years at Washington Elementary in Olathe, Kan.Â She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee, Kan., since 1956.Â
Irene is survived by three sons, Terry Hodges, Robin Hodges and Tracy Hodges; two daughters and sons-in-law, Penny Eaton and Mark, and Cherry Floyd and Steve; grandchildren, Isaac, Allie, Noah and Lilly Floyd, and Jackson Eaton.Â Irene is also survived by her siblings, Wilma Johnson, A.J. Hanna, James Hanna, Floyd Hanna, Jerry Hanna, Shirley Ramirez, and Dewayne Hanna.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee.Â The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church.Â Burial will be in Lenexa Cemetery.
