SPIRO — It took every game slated in the 2012 LeFlore County Baseball Tournament to decide the champion this year, but the Wister Wildcats were able to dethrone the Spiro Bulldogs.
After the ‘Dogs forced the second title game with a 9-4 win Friday night, the ’Cats came back to win the winner-take-all contest Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-3.
The Bulldogs, who suffered a 7-5 loss to Wister in Thursday night's winner's-bracket final, reached the championship round with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Pocola Indians on Friday. The Indians finished third.
Editor's Note — The All-LeFlore County Tournament Team was not available at press time. Look for it in a later edition.
