It was a busy weekend for me

October 25, 2013

On Oct. 17, the Adams family went to the Poteau Pirates' home District 4A-4 football game at Costner Stadium against the Tulsa Cascia Hall Commandos — and that was just the start of my busy weekend.
Last Friday morning, I'm up by 5 a.m., hauling dirt bikes and 50 pounds of Okie burgers to Balloon Fest at the LeFlore County Fairgrounds.
On Saturday after coaching my fifth-grade Bandit League team's game at Greenwood, Ark., we returned to Balloon Fest at about 4 p.m. I got to watch Derek and Cody do backflips and fly all over the place, and I just knew they were going to crash at any time. Bob Oliver and Scottie Bradshaw were laughing at me because I was squirming everywhere when they jumped.
On Sunday morning, we're all up at 3 a.m. and on the road by 4 a.m. as we were headed to Stillwater to Tumbleweeds bar to shoot a video for Kings of Leon's new single, “Beautiful War.” We were extras.
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and veterans.
Have a great weekend.
