Jack Claude “J.C.” Kuykendall, 78, of
Wister died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, in
Poteau. J.C. was born Sept. 3, 1932, in Red
Oak to Jesse Herman and Effie (Pulley)
Kuykendall. He was a car salesman. J.C.
was preceded in death by his parents; his
first wife of 44 years, Ruby Marie Harmon;
sons, Carroll and Ronnie Kuykendall; and
brother, Larry Kuykendall.
Survivors include his wife, Esther of the home; sons,
Jerry Kuykendall, Terry Kuykendall and Claude Kuykendall
of California, Gary Henson of Missouri; daughters, Shirley
Thomas of Lodi, Calif., Marie Ford of Norman, Vernoyise
Ford and Lawanna Collins of Wister, Ruby Horton of
Howe, Joy Davis of Arcadia, Linda Clough of Wister,
Gwinda Quarry of Poteau, and Brenda Hendon of Wister;
41 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren;
other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wister Assembly
of God Church with The Rev. Frankie Harris officiating.
Burial will be in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister. Pallbearers
will be Jeff Ford, Maury Ford, Timothy Hendrix, Cody
Agherrabi, Slade Reece, Vernon Midgley, Josh Midgley
and Doug Percifield. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim
Ford and Niko Reece.
The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday
from 6-8 p.m. to visit with friends and relatives.
