James “Irby” Wright

James “Irby” Wright, 89, of Denton, Texas, died Friday, June 6, 2014, in Denton. Irby was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Spiro to Jim and Betty (Turney) Wright. He operated a fishing tackle retail store. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Irby was a member of the Open Range Cowboy Church in Krum, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty Wright; and wife, Bobbye Wright, on June 17, 2007.
Survivors include his daughters and their husbands, Sharon “Sissy” and Melvin McAdams of Huntington, Texas, Cresha and Michael Beattie of Denton, Jan and David Pinto of Lake Dallas, Texas, Denise and Dan Dalton of Celeste, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Albritton, Dollie Underwood, Ila Underwood; brother-in-law, Jimmie Underwood; nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola with the Rev. Jerry Underwood officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Spiro. Pallbearers will be Alan McAdams, Ted Pinto, Anthony Pinto, James Dalton, John Dalton, Shiney Gene Foyil. Honorary pallbearer will be Dan Bob Dalton.
