James Mabry

The Rev. James Mabry, formerly of Fairview, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He was 89.
James was born April 1, 1924, to Florence and Eric Emory Mabry in Hughes. He served in World War II as a merchant seaman. 
James met and married his soul mate, Yoshiko Kanashiro on March 19, 1953, in Yokohama, Japan.
After WWII, they moved to Fanshawe, where he was called into the ministry. James and Yoshiko moved to Waxahachie, Texas, for theological studies at Southwestern Assemblies of God College. Upon completion of his degree and Assemblies of God Ordination, they moved to Fairview, where he pastored more than 25 years and served as Presbyter over eight to 10 churches. 
James is survived by his wife, Yoshiko Mabry; daughter, Becky Inman and husband James Inman and granddaughter Zoe Inman of Dallas; brother Joseph Mabry and wife Barbara of Bartlesville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Mabry; and father, Eric Emory Mabry; brothers, Elmer Mabry, Alvin Mabry, Floyd Mabry, and Eugene Mabry; and sisters, Mary Lacey and Catherine Porter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 6, at the Red Oak Assembly of God with the Revs. Randy Holmes and Gary Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Fanshawe Cemetery.
Jones Harkins Funeral Home, Wilburton, is handling arrangements.
