Jane Hammond

Jane Hammond, 85, of Poteau died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Poteau. Jane was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Springfield, Mo.
Her highest grade attended was 12th and she attended one semester at the University of Oklahoma after marriage. She married Kenneth Jack Hammond on March 30, 1946. They were married for 66 years. Jane was also known as JJ. She was an active member of the Republican Party. Jane was a member of the Methodist Church. She was the best hostess for all family and friend gatherings. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Pruitt and Pearl White; brother, Rex White and his wife, Betty. 
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Jack Hammond of Poteau; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Susan Hammond; daughter, Kay Brown, and daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Don Campbell; sister, Kenna Lou  O’Reilly of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Poteau with Rev. Kyle Clark officiating.
