Janice Pauline Midgley Couch

Janice Pauline Midgley Couch, of Wister, Okla., passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Fort Smith, Ark. Janice was born Sunday, December 2, 1962 in Stockton, Calif., to Clifford Melton and Lilace Elaine (Sampson) Midgley. She was a cook at Wister Public Schools. Janice was preceded in death by her paternal grandpa, Charley Midgley; maternal grandparents, O.C. and Mildred Sampson; and best friend, Cheryl Johnson Seagraves.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherauna Burleson of Wister, Tiffanee Couch Horn and husband, Jared of Wister; grandchildren, Aiyden Horn and Abee Jo Horn; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Eddie Wemmerus of Wister; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Paula Midgley of Poteau, Okla., Lance and Melissa Midgley of Talihina, Okla.; eight nephews; six nieces; ex-husband, Tommy Couch of Heavener, Okla.; life long friend, Nancy Ward Tomblinson of Wister; special aunt, Murlene Sanders of Poteau; grandmother, Dorothy Midgley of Wister; parents, Cliff and Elaine Midgley of Wister; other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.
Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, February 23, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Rev. P.J. Atkinson and Rev. Larry Strouse officiating.
Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister. Pallbearers will be Devon Midgley, Jesse Rice, Jake Gandee, Stephen Wemmerus, Chad Jackson, Chris Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Hill and Chris Midgley.
