Jeff Lee “Chief” Batt, 55, of Arkoma died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Feb. 7, 1957, at Tahlequah to Richard Lee and Josephine (Bendabout) Batt. He was a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Laura Gooley.
Chief is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Shawn and JoAnn Batt of Arkoma; two daughters, Melissa Batt of Greenwood, Ark., and Mandy Batt of Van Buren, Ark.; five brothers, Charlie Batt of Tahlequah, Mark Batt of Sallisaw, Jerry Batt of Tahlequah, Larry Batt of Greenwood, Ark., and Johnny Batt of Arkoma; three sisters, Tammy McGuire of Arkoma and Florene Batt of Tahlequah and Maggie Batt of Stillwell; three grandchildren, Nakiyah Batt of Arkoma, Skylar Batt of Tahlequah and Paisley Carter of Arkoma; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.
The family will host a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Southpointe Church, Fort Smith, with Bro. Rick Kester officiating. You may leave an online greeting to the family at www.gracemanorfh.com.
