Jerry Edward Thompson

Jerry Edward Thompson, 68, of Cameron died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Poteau to Richard and Annie Velma (Gullick) Thompson. He worked for the local cable company for more than 42 years. After retiring he worked for Gentry Ranch. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, AJ, RC, Bud, and Wayne Thompson; sister, Amanda Thompson; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Heavener Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Gaye, of the home; sons, Keith Thompson of Pocola, Jeff and Barbara Thompson of Fort Smith, Ark.; grandchildren, Katie Rodgers and Allie Watson; several other close relatives and many friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with the Rev. Danny Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Donald Troy Byrd, Kelly Young, Jerry Davidson and Donald Draper.
The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.
