Joe Carroll Molton, 71, of Shady Point died Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in Shady Point. Joe was born September 13, 1942 in Wellington, Texas., to Oscar and Opal (Gibbons) Molton. He was a welder. Joe helped in the construction of the AES Plant. He loved to restore old cars; he was a member of the Studebaker Club; a member of the Masonic Lodge; and a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Kingery Molton; and brothers, W.L. and Archie Molton.
Â Survivors include his wife, Pam of the home; daughter Jody Molton of Barling, Ark., and sister, Annetta Cortez of Poteau; other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Evans Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Shady Point Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be John Huff, John Scarborough, Richard Blone.
