Johnny Lee Martin, 69, of Panama died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. Johnny was born July 17, 1944, in Panama to Arlin Thiral and Estella Marie (Ornder) Martin. He was a forklift driver for Whirlpool. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wilma of the home; sons, Johnny Martin Jr. of Poteau, Jerry Martin of Panama; daughter, Patricia Weaver of Panama; six grandchildren, Johnny Martin III of Wister, Aaron Martin of California, Mindy Howk of Wilburton, Scott Martin of Edmond, Darren Martin of Oklahoma City, Ryan Weaver of Panama; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Thiral Martin of Panama, Doyle Martin of Heavener, Bobby Martin of Panama, Don Martin of Poteau; sisters, Melba Treece of Mena, Ark., Shirley Walls of Shady Point; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Panama Assembly of God with the Revs. James Johnson, Scott Martin and Steve Martin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Panama. Pallbearers will be Bobby, Doyle, Don and Craig Martin, Sam Walls, Tim Walls. Honorary pallbearer will be Thiral Martin,
