Jury selection begins in Haskin child abuse trial

Jury selection in the trial against James Haskin Jr., of Monroe who has been charged with nine counts of child neglect and three counts of child sexual abuse began Monday morning.

Jury selection in the trial of a man accused of abusing his children began Monday morning at the LeFlore County Courthouse.
James Haskin, 61, of Monroe, was arrested in November 2011 after investigators alleged nine children were being neglected and some of them sexually abused by Haskin. Haskin's wife Lucinda was also arrested in connection with the allegations.
Jury selection is expected to continue until Tuesday and trial to begin on Wednesday.
